Obviously, for any photographer, equipment is important. I know some of you out there are interested in just what camera kit I carry. So this post sets out to explain some of my important gear.

I am a Fujifilm mirrorless photographer and proud. I previously used Canon DSLR kit.

Camera Bodies

My current bodies:

  • Fujifilm X-T4
  • Fujifilm X-H1
  • Fujifilm X-T20

My current main camera bodies are the X-H1 and X-T4. Not only do they look stunning, the quality of the images they can produce is exceptional. The X-T20 is my current backup - it's small and perfectly capable of taking lovely shots - it is however much older, has poorer focus, is louder and is generally less intuitive.

Lenses

I currently use the following lenses:

  • Fujifilm XF 23mm f1.4 R LM WR
  • Fujifilm XF 50-140mm f2.8 R LM OIS WR
  • Fujifilm XF 35mm f1.4 R
  • Viltrox AF 13mm f1.4

The 23mm is my primary lens. This is arguably one of the finest pieces of Fujifilm glass ever created. It's perfection in a lens and I adore it.

The 50-140mm is my second most used lens. It is utilised for my longer shots and portraits. It's ideal for sitting at the back of a class and focussing just on the teacher. This lens is universally regarded as being the very best telephoto ever produced for the Fujifilm system.

The 35mm is my next favourite prime lens. It is one of the more unique and optically wonderful lenses ever produced in my opinion. The bokeh it creates is unlike that of any other lens. Despite being older and featuring an auto-focus motor that sounds like a helicopter, its optical quality is certainly unique. I use this lens for many of my portrait shots and general yoga images.

The 13mm is more a niche lens. While I do use it for some shoots, it's a bit too wide for most situations and is more a specialised lens. Optically, it's wonderful for the most part.

Lighting

I currently use the following light gear:

  • Godox V860III Speedlight
  • Godox TT350F Speedlight
  • Godox AD200 Strobes
  • Godox X-Pro Trigger

I adore Godox products. They aren't super cheap, but they are portable and are the best lighting manufacturer going for Fuji. Alongside the flashes I use Godox produced softboxes.

Misc

I currently use the following misc items of note also:

  • DJI Mini 2 Drone
  • Pluto Trigger
  • iPad Air 4
  • MacBook Pro M1 Pro 16GB RAM
  • Custom built editing PC running Windows 10 with Nvidia RTX 2060 GPU, Intel i5, 32GB RAM
  • Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop

The pluto trigger is more for fun and allows for some creative photoshoots. I edit all my photos on my MacBook Pro, custom built Windows PC or iPad with the Adobe suite of photo editing products.
